Fishing Report -Wednesday March 31, 2010

Capt Dave called and said that they got 4 Sails on the Barbarosa fishing out of Quepos. He said it was kind of slow today! I'll post more reports as I talk to the other boats.

Fishing Report -Tuesday March 30, 2010

Here's a photo of the La Manta ready to go back in the water. We are going in on the high tide tomorrow afternoon if everything goes as planned.

The fishing is really good right now. I talked to the guys on the Frenzy and they had 7 sails, a Wahoo and two Dorados today. They were killing it! Nice work guys! The Barbarosa raised two Marlin. One was hooked up but broke off and the other never came tight. The clients were filming for a TV show and wanted to try to set their own hooks. Anyway, the fishing is HOT right now in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica! I cannot wait to get out there and fish!

Thanks for reading and good fishing!

Fishing Report -Monday March 29, 2010

I worked on the La Manta more today and she's probably going in the water on Tuesday. Got the thru hull fixed and Tuna Tubes plumbed. There's a ton of little stuff to do but that can all get done once we are in the water. Hopefully we'll be fishing by the weekend.

Fishing Report-

Capt Dave Dobbins aboard the Barbarosa had a really good day with 4 Sails, a Marlin and a couple Dorados. They were the top boat out of Quepos today.  In some places that would be the best day ever but here in Costa Rica that's just a AVERAGE day!  We will have some photos and reports coming soon from the La Manta. Stay tuned~

Fishing Report -Saturday March 27, 2010

No fishing for me today. It was blazing hot in the Boatyard today. Today was one of the hottest days that I have felt in Costa Rica. I sure hope that we'll get some rain soon. Here's a photo of the La Manta with the new lettering and paint. She really looks good. I'm very pleased with the work.  Capt. David has a Charter tomorrow on the Barbarosa but I'm not going due to the fact that they have 6 people on the Charter. I'll probably take a day away from the yard and surf.

Fishing Report:
Heard from one of the mates today that they got lots of bites around 30 miles out of Quepos. Hopefully the bite will start to pick up some as we get rain. I'll post a report tomorrow after Capt Dave gets back from his trip on the Barbarosa. Good Luck!

thanks for reading and good fishing!

Fishing Report -Friday March 26, 2010

Today we didn't have any charters on the Barbarosa so I went back to check on the La Manta. The painting is being finished as I write this. The guy is coming in the morning to do the lettering on the transom and the registration numbers on the hull. Then we will start putting equipment back on. There is a pretty long list but it's all small stuff. We should be fishing by this time next week!

Fishing Report:
From reading the signs around Quepos it looks like the  boats have been having average fishing with each boat landing at least a couple of Sails and some Dorados. Hopefully this rain that we have been getting offshore is helping to cool the water. Water temps are nearing 90 degrees in some places. That's not good for the fishing......

Fishing Report -Thursday March 25, 2010

Went back to check on the LaManta today. The hull is painted. I don't have any photos because my battery on my camera died. This one is from my cell. The boot stripe is finished and they were starting to paint the bottom when I left. We are going in the water in a few days! She looks really good!
